Leiite - Toy Shop

Today after morning tea the whole of Point England School got the chance to watch the Point England movie the Toy Shop on Zipzip Avenue. We got to watch the whole movie live!. My favourite part of the movie would have to be the transformers. They had some very good dancing that just blew my socks off. They got together and did a dance for us, it was very cool and joyful.

Leiite - Attitude Talks: Cybersmart

On the 25th of September 2019 at Point England School a man named Toni came to team 5 block to talk about cybersmart. It wasn’t the first time he came to talk to us. He told us the good things about devices and the bad things. He told us how the internet let him down and how it helped him in life. He taught us how to be cybersmart and how it can be used for bad. He told us that bullying can’t just be face to face, it can also be online. He told us that if we were to have social media he should keep our parents into it just incase someone could try to be fronting at a 13-year-old when really he was a creepy old person trying to get your personal information. He told us a lot of funny jokes and a lot of stories but my favourite part was when he told us that he went to Cook Island last week and he saw one of the students that us to come to our school. His name is Tupuia he left Term 3 week 2 and we haven’t heard from him since then.

Leiite - Bastion Point

In 1976 the government proposed selling part of the Bastion Point reserve (Maori’s land) for luxury housing. It was on ancestral land that Ngāti Whātua hoped to get back. The Bastion Point war started on the 5th of January 1977 it lasted for 506 days and ended on 25th May 1978. There were 222 protesters were evicted and arrested by police officers. Ngāti Whātua filed claims to the Waitangi Tribunal, which the government largely accepted. The Land March 1975 was significant to New Zealand because it reflected that our country cared about our spiritual values. The protest contributed to the cause of other movements such as the occupation of Bastion Point in 1978. The event was a contrast to the war generation that was conservative. Arguments over the proposed Ihumatao development in South Auckland. There was a lot of people at the Bastion Point fighting for their land and the story has been told many, many times a lot of people know and understand this story they fought for their land then and they'll do it again!.

Leiite - Number 28

Prisoner number 28 was built in his father's garage. He was built from steel and bolts found on the side of the road. But prisoner number 28 wasn’t always a prisoner he was a good boy. He did everything his father demanded and never disrespected him. He never said no and never did anything to harm anyone. Until one day when he woke up and felt a bit… broken his father checked him out to see what was wrong turns out number 28 was missing 28 bolts. His father always knew what to do till this day and that’s when number 28 became a prisoner. No one really knew what happened to him he went off and started to hurt his father which a lot of other men nearby heard about and was very angry at him for it. But couldn’t blame number 28. Number 28 went missing for almost 90 years. His father showed other family members photos of number 28 when he was a little robot and he tried to make him an even bigger robot. People always asked him, “What did happen to him?” but his father just stuck his shoulders and said, “Honestly I don’t know”. Number 28’s father put the number 28 on his hand till they meet again and that’s how he got his number 28. For about 90 years passed there were rumors going around say, “Prisoner number 28 is back!!” everyone has heard about it and everyone was so happy to see him about well most were others didn’t want him back well the reset didn’t know what was going on. “He’s back he’s back!!” I was awoken by the loud noise of people screaming and running around. I got up and looked out the window, “Oh what?! Is that a car?!” I looked out the window and saw a car fly right pass, “My head my beautiful head I would've died” I got dressed still in shock on what happened. I didn’t know I was almost about to get a car to the head this morning. As I was walking down the road to the shops to buy milk I saw number 28 and said “Goodmorning number 28… (Walking off) Wait” I slowly turned around. “Number 28 it’s been so long where have you been?” “Where have I been? Where have I been?! My father had locked me up in a secret basement and I thought you all were in this?! he locked me up and put me to rest for years I have been asleep and I have finally woke up and now I am looking for him” “Oh well I’m sorry 28 but your father has passed” “Passed what? The red light?” “Why does everything must be a joke your father died 28 dead I tell you dead!!” Number 28 wasn’t very happy on the tone of my voice and went off again. He flipped cars and through them everywhere I knew he was the want that through the car to my face but I didn’t want him to get mad at me it wasn’t my time to go. Prisoner number 28 was finished on throwing cars but we still mad on how his father left him to die in a basement and didn’t have time to go and say his last goodbyes. Number 28 thought he didn’t belong in the world and thought he should go where his father is right now but I didn’t want that to happen I wanted him to go on with his life and what he wants to be and what he can be good at. He was so big and strong I told him to be a builder and lift up the heavier things he could be a monster mission. So he did that I signed him up and he got the job! So now Bulider 28 builds and lifts heavy things people cannot.

Leiite - Basketball

In the movie Woodlawn, it is said, “There's something special about you. I can see it. You have a gift.” I believe playing sports is something special that I am able to do for many reasons.

If you saw Michael Jordan playing basketball across from your house what would you do?. Well Michael Jordan was growing up he loved to play basketball. Morning, afternoon and evening. He couldn’t live one day without the court.  Michael Jordan went to University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill well growing up. Michael Jordan was also one of the shortest players in his college team, Michael Jordan is 1.98m tall and used to play for the bulls. His jersey number was twenty three until it went missing in 1990 he couldn’t fit any other twenty three jerseys in the stadium so he had to wear the number twelve. The bulls won less than half of their games every year. It all changed once Michael Jordan joined their team.

Basketball is one of my favorite sport is an American sport. It also is an indoor game mostly. Dr Jame Naismith was the man who invented Basketball in December 1891. He sent out thirteen rules of its own. The ball may be thrown in any direction with one or both hands, this is still a rule in basketball but with a little change. You can’t go pass the halfcourt line once you passed it. The ball may be batted in any direction with one, but never with the fist. This rule still stands till this day. Players can dribble the ball with one hand as they run or pass, but they can't run with the ball well catching a pass. The ball must be held by the hands. The arms or body must not be used for holding it. This rule still applies, it would be a traveling violation. There are a lot of rules in basketball to much for me to remember.

Playing sports is probably the only time I get up and run. Which is good for me, a lot of people might think their good at sports. Some say others are good because their tall, fast or fit. I mainly believe that people are only good at sports if they have the faith, the right attitude and mindset.

Playing sports can be very special.

Leiite - Why Judge Me ?

Why judge me?.

Is it because the clothes on my back?.
Or The food that I chew?.
Maybe the shoes that I wear and the things that I do.
I have never judged you don’t act like a fool I know you know that truly I love you and would never hurt you.
So stop all this judging and stop all this talking.
Let’s just do a get together and start hugging.
We can work all this out without any husslein.
So please forgive for me for all of the trouble that I started.
